8/24/00: Blessing in disguise
Hi, everyone!!!

How are you all? I had a busy day at school, it was crowded, too. But nice, so far,…

I have 8 classes which includes a 40 minute lunch break, and the first 4 classes are electives, that means that they aren’t like the requried ones, but some other kinds to use your time that you have extra at school wisley.

My first class is a computer applications class and I’m not sure of what we’re supposed to do, but the teacher seems ok and she said that all we really needed to pass was to be there everyday, as much as possible and have a pleasent personality. That I have, and I can work on the attendance.

See, last year was bad, I felt like what is the point and didn’t care at all, but believe me, school is so important, by the time I realized it it was too late for me to really pass last year, so what happened is now I am a freshmore, a ninth and tenth grader and I have to work ten times as hard as others just to be able to pass this year, make up credits and graduate with my own class that I have been o school with since kindergarten. If anyone is reading this and is having a bad time or was at school well, I suggest that you don’t do what I did, give up because well, I’m lucky to finally start getting my butt in gear and I know now that I am going to make it, as much as being retained made me feel like a failure BIG TIME, well, it also helped me to go the opposite way, too. I say that’s a blessing in disguise.

Ok, now, my second class is a piano lab, and I have always wanted to learn the piano, and now I am going to get graded for doing something I want to, and I can do well, as little piano or any instrument experience as I have, well, I want to do it, so I think that puts me a little ahead 🙂

My third class is study hall, tomorrow I am going to fill out papers to get to use that time as an offce worker and work in the nurses office. I’ll love that! The nurse told em last year that she will teach me things like taking temps, and checking bp’s, and I’ll get to probably help wityh programs and stuff, too. I’m excited about that class, I mean, who said study hall was boring??????

My fourth class is ROTC, I am a caddette!!! Also the newest one in there, but hey, I’ll learn!!!

My fifth class is lunch, and they have new seats and stuff, even booths in the cafeteria, it’s nice!

The rest are algerbra, science and english. And next year it’s the same, but I’ll have aquatics, water stuff instead of the computer class, and I’ll have child development instead of study hall 🙁

Well, I gotta go now, take care!!! Hope you all had as nice of a day as I did! Love, Mary
